From The Prairie City, Oregon take county rd 62 approximately 19 miles to Summit Prairie. From Summit Prairie travel west on Forest Service 16 to Forest Service road 1600133. Travel this FS Rd to the Junction of Forest Service road 1600097. More
Dixie Camp
Camping with horses is available at Dixie Butte.
From Prairie City, OR, take US Rt. 26 east 8.7 miles to campground sign. Turn left at sign and go 0.2 mile to campground.
Strawberry Lake
The Slide Connector Trailhead provides campsites for horses with easy access to The alpine Lakes in The Strawberry Mountain Wilderness.
From Prairie City take county road 60 to FS RD 6001. Go approximately half a mile to the slide connector horse camp.
